A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans asphalt paving along KY 1721, KY 1897, and KY 2601 in Marshall County starting Tuesday, September 2.

A paving crew will be working at the following locations:

KY 1712/Griggstown Road from the intersection with KY 782/Salyer Creek Road northward to US 68, a distance of 2.61 miles.

KY 1897/Olive-Hamlet Road from the intersection with KY 962/Old Olive Road, heading northwest to KY 408/Eggners Ferry Road, and distance of 4.55 miles.

KY 2603/Vanzora Road from the intersection with KY 58/Brewers Highway, extending north to KY 408/Oak Level Road, a distance of 5.07 miles.

Paving at each of these locations is expected to take 4 or 5 days to complete, weather permitting.

Drivers should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this $1,035,465 group paving project.
