A Paducah man has been arrested in connection to the burglary of a home in Livingston County.

On July 7, someone entered a home on Desert Storm Road in northern Livingston County, taking approximately 20 firearms, along with tools, electronics, and keepsakes. A Yamaha ATV was also taken. The total value of the stolen items was over $25,000.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Department got an anonymous tip on Friday, and was able to find one of the guns at a local pawn shop. This led to a search warrant being issued for the home of 24-year-old Matthew Eggleston at 1100 South 3rd Street in Paducah.

Sheriff's Departments from McCracken and Livingston County, along with ATF agents, executed the search warrant, and recovered a large amount of the stolen property, including some of the firearms.

Eggleston was arrested and taken to McCracken County Jail. He is charged with multiple counts of receiving stolen firearms, along with receiving stolen property over $500 and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

The case is still under investigation, and the ATF is determining if federal laws have been broken. Additional charges are possible.

Anyone with information about this investigation should call the Livingston County Sheriff's Department at 270-928-2122, or call Crime Stoppers at 443-TELL.
