A Ledbetter woman died Wednesday after an accident in Marshall County, and the driver is facing charges.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office said a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Kyle Green of Paducah was traveling northbound on I-69 near the I-24 overpass when it struck a guardrail. The passenger, 33-year-old Jamie Burks, was ejected from the vehicle.

Burks was taken to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time later.

Green was taken to the Marshall County Jail and is being charged with second degree manslaughter, and first offense DUI.

The investigation is ongoing, and detectives say more charges are possible.
