A man was injured early Sunday morning in a Marshall County hotel fire.

Fire Chief Ricky Sirls said several fire agencies responded at around 1:00 am to a report of a fire at Lakeland Resort in Aurora. The building was reportedly fully engulfed by the time responders arrived. Sirls said hotel guests had to break a window to rescue the owner, and that he was later flown to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville for treatment of significant injuries.

Sirls said the man's condition is stable at this time. The building was reportedly a total loss.
