Eastbound lanes are blocked at the I-24 Tennessee River Bridge at Exit 27 due to an oversize load stuck in the work zone at the 30 mile marker.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says eastbound traffic is being temporarily detoured off at Exit 27 to follow US 62 eastbound and KY 453 North, to reconnect to I-24 at Grand Rivers Exit 31. Traffic is now backed up to mile marker 20. They also suggest all traffic in Paducah headed eastbound to Nashville should exit I-24 at Exit 16 and continue on US 68 to Cadiz, and then get back onto I-24.

The barrier wall in the eastbound work zone on the bridge will reportedly have to be moved back to allow the 18-foot load to pass through the work zone.

The estimated duration of the closure is three hours.
