One Injured, One Charged in Mayfield Shooting

A shooting Wednesday afternoon in Mayfield sent one person to the hospital and another to jail.

According to the Mayfield Police Department, at 2:25 pm, officers were dispatched to a shooting at an apartment on South 9th Street. Inside the apartment, officers found the victim, 36-year-old Kathy Bouland, of Mayfield, with three gunshot wounds.

The suspect, 42-year-old Bradley Tyson Morris, of Mayfield, had fled on foot. Investigators processed evidence found at the crime scene, and conducted interviews with witnesses.

At approximately 3:40 pm, Morris turned himself in at the Mayfield Police Department. He was charged with 1st degree assault, 1st degree burglary, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and tampering with physical evidence. He was lodged in the Graves County Jail.

According to police, Bouland was taken by ambulance to Jackson Purchase Medical Center and later transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of her injuries.
