Name of Officer in Mayfield Shooting Released

The name of the officer involved in a shooting incident on Friday has been released.

According to Kentucky State Police, the officer is Lieutenant Daniel Crofoot, a 16 year veteran of Mayfield Police Department. He remains on paid administrative leave pending the KSP investigation of this incident.

The suspect, 23-year-old Andrew Chamberlain, is still at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, where he is listed in stable condition.

Police responded Aug. 18 to a report of an armed man walking on West Lee Street around 3:00 am. Their interaction with the man led to shots being fired.
