A woman was injured Thursday night when she was struck by her own vehicle in Murray.

The Murray Police Department said officers responded around 6:40 pm to a call that a woman was struck by a vehicle in a parking lot at a business on Chestnut Street.

Officers spoke with 84-year-old Mary Tinsley of Murray. Tinsley told police that when she got of her vehicle, it began rolling backward. When she tried to get in to stop the vehicle, she fell and the front tire rolled over her.

Bystanders were able to stop the vehicle before it struck any other person or property.

Tinsley was transported by ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
