A man was arrested Thursday on shoplifting and other charges after a police pursuit through a residential neighborhood in Murray.

The Murray Police Department says that at around 1:30 p.m. an officer saw employees from Walgreen’s confront a man crossing Main Street, claiming that he had just stolen something from the store. The officer made contact with the man, who began to flee. After a foot chase though a residential area, Murray officers and Calloway Sheriff's Deputies caught the suspect, 31-year-old Joshua Morris, in a crawl space of a home.

Morris was arrested and booked into the Calloway County Jail on charges of shoplifting, fleeing or evading police on foot and second degree burglary.
