Motorcyclist Arrested After Police Chase

A Todd County man was arrested Saturday night after fleeing from a traffic stop and leading police on a chase for several miles.


Around 7:30 p.m., Trooper Crick, with the Kentucky State Police, attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a speeding violation on Chase M. Cooper, who was operating a motorcycle on Miller Valley Road, near Elkton, KY. Cooper failed to stop and fled on his motorcycle. Trooper Sean Wint assisted as Cooper traveled into Christian County. After several miles, Cooper pulled his vehicle to the shoulder of the road, however, refused to comply with verbal commands given by Trooper Wint. Cooper was finally placed under arrest and transported to the Christian County Detention Center where he was lodged.


Cooper was charged with the following:

Speeding 26 mph or >, Reckless Driving, Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (motor vehicle), Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (police officer), Disregarding Traffic Control Device, License Plate Not Legible, Resisting Arrest, Disregarding Stop Sign, Failure To or Improper Signal, Failure to Produce Insurance Card.
