Two minor quakes early Tuesday morning were recorded on the Richter Scale along the New Madrid fault line.  According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a magnitude 2.4 tremor took place at around 3:01 am, near Bardwell.

At 4:42 am, a magnitude 2.1 tremor took place near Conway, Arkansas.  Neither of the quakes would be considered strong enough to be felt by humans.

The USGS says it usually takes a tremor measuring around a 2.5 or 2.6 before humans are able to detect the shaking.

There have been multiple quakes along the New Madrid fault line over the past ten days, with the biggest being a 3.2 magnitude quake epicentered in the Missouri Bootheel region within the past week.  That tremor was felt by people in four states.
