A woman was injured Friday in Graves County when she apparently had a medical emergency while driving.

Graves County deputies were dispatched to the intersection of KY 994 and Wice Church Road, where they found a vehicle on its top near the tree line of a farm, and 67-year-old Debra Dempsey still in the overturned vehicle.

Dempsey told deputies she had left her home in Paducah to get her grandchild from school, but didn't know where she was or how she had gotten there.

Deputies determined that Dempsey's vehicle crossed Wice Church Road, ramped up an embankment and traveled nearly 80 feet in the air.

Dempsey was freed from the vehicle and transported to Baptist Health Paducah for treatment of a medical emergency and injuries from the collision.
