Mayfield Traffic Stop Leads to Two Drug Arrests

Two Graves County men were arrested Wednesday night on various drug charges following a traffic stop.

According to the Graves County Sheriff's Department, a detective stopped a vehicle on West Broadway after the vehicle was observed driving suspiciously on Old Dublin Road. The detective conducted a pat down on the driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old Derek J. Bauman, of State Route 1241, and found a pill bottle in his pocket containing methamphetamine and marijuana.

A passenger in the vehicle, 27-year-old Robert Sams, of State Route 1686, was found in possession of a bag of marijuana, a set of scales with meth on them, and several corner baggies with meth residue on them. Both men were arrested and lodged in the Graves County Jail.

Both Bauman and Sams were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
