Petra was raised in Germany, where she studied business administration and received her legal secretary credentials. During her career, she has held several positions which include administrative assistant to the president of global sanitary engineering firm GKW, a commercial loan secretary at Liberty Bank, clinic manager at Forest Family Practice, and Director of Bariatrics at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.
