The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says there is a phone scam circulating through the community. They say the call is an automated call from 415-914-1567.
According to police, the caller alleges that they are with the IRS and that you are being investigated for fraudulent tax activity. Deputies say the call is a scam, and you should not return their phone calls or provide them with any personal information.
The sheriff's office says as with any unsolicited call, never provide any personal information over the telephone.
