A Marshall County man was arrested after allegedly assaulting another man, and intending to shoot him.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, deputies were sent to Dee's Lane near Calvert City at around 3 pm Tuesday, where 64-year-old Ealvis Stevenson of Calvert City had allegedly assaulted a man.  Deputies say when they arrived, they were told Stevenson had left to get a gun and shoot the person he had just assaulted.

A short time after that, Stevenson returned on his ATV and was ordered by deputies to stop and put his hands in the air.  Deputies say Stevenson refused and instead revved the engine, coming toward one of the deputies.  After passing by the deputy he then apparently stopped the ATV, jumped off and pointed a gun at one of the deputies.

Deputies say they ordered Stevenson to drop his weapon, but he refused.  The deputy then fired two rounds at Stevenson.

From there the report from the sheriff's office doesn't indicate what took place, only that Stevenson was then taken to Marshall County Hospital as a precaution and treated for a minor injury.  He was released from the hospital and then taken to the Marshall County Detention Center.

Stevenson has been charged with 3rd degree terroristic threatening, 1st degree wanton endangerment, 4th degree assault, and resisting arrest.  The investigation is ongoing.

WestKentuckyStar has asked for clarification on details of the arrest.
