Teens at each library were able to participate in hands on tech activities at each branch in the field of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) by creating a R2D2 droid. “Activities like this are ways for teens to become familiar with skills sets they can use in the future. It also provides that access to materials and gives them time to be free to create things together with their peers outside of school,” says Hayden.
MCPL teens had a great time last week playing with the droid inventor kit and learning how to create their own with help from Martin. Caitlyn Huffmaster, was chosen to receive the giveaway prize provided by the library, which was drawn from all those who participated in Teen Tech Week events.
