After searching since Thursday afternoon, a wanted man was found and arrested Friday morning in Lyon County.
Lyon County officials say James Dowell was a federal fugitive. The Kentucky online offender website (KOOL) says he absconded from parole.
The Lyon County Sheriff's Department, Kentucky State Police and US Marshals Service began looking for Dowell after he fled from Marshall County to the Suwanee area, left his vehicle and fled on foot. An accomplice was arrested Thursday, and officials say Dowell was taken into custody on Friday morning near Iron Hill Campground after police got a tip from someone.
Dowell has a criminal record going back to 2011, when he was convicted in Ballard County for burglary and theft, convictions in 2016 in McCracken County for methamphetamine trafficking and possession of a gun by a convicted felon, and a 2018 conviction in Ballard County for meth trafficking.
