Man Sentenced to 25 years for Rape of Child

A man that pleaded guilty to raping a child has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Roderick Sherrill was sentenced on Monday to 25 years on three counts of 1st degree rape, victim under the age of 12. He was also sentenced to 20 years on three counts of incest, victim under the age of 12.

All counts will run concurrent for a total of 25 years. Sherrill will be required to register as a lifetime sexual offender, and can have no contact with the minor child.

Sherrill was arrested in January after police said he sexually assaulted a family member. He pleaded guilty in August.
