A man wanted in connection with a May drive-by shooting in Mayfield has been arrested.

Mayfield Police Chief Nathan Kent says 30-year-old Stanford Shelton, of Mayfield, was arrested Saturday on a complaint warrant for complicity to attempted murder. Shelton was arrested at an apartment complex in Mayfield and taken to the Graves County Jail.

Shelton is the second man arrested in connection with the May 12 attempted murder of Jerrod Powell at a duplex on West Lee Street. Twenty-seven-year-old Dimetri Ross, of Mayfield was arrested last week and charged with attempted murder.

Twenty-three-year-old Savannah Hancock was killed in a drive-by shooting last month at the same duplex. Hancock suffered a gunshot wound to her neck on the night of June 18. She died three days later at an Evansville hospital.
