A Mayfield man was arrested Friday after he was found trying to enter a home.

The Mayfield Police Department says they responded to a home on Fuller Street and spoke to 33-year-old David Agin, Jr. Police say he was trying to enter the home, but the people inside said they did not know him. Police say Agin's speech was slurred and he had a white substance around his mouth. He told police he was trying to get out of the weather.

Police determined that Agin was wanted on an arrest warrant from Calloway County for failure to appear in court on charges of public intoxication and jumping bail.

Agin was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center to be medically cleared, then was arrested on the warrant. He was additionally charged with public intoxication by a controlled substance and disorderly conduct 2nd degree.

He was taken to Graves County Jail.
