Mitigation work in the area of a creek bridge will require a work zone and lane restriction on U.S. Highway 60 just east of LaCenter, starting Wednesday.

A lane restriction and a 45 mile speed limit will be in place near mile marker 12.5 in Ballard County at the bridge over a branch of Frazier Creek. This is near the intersection with KY 310/Turner Landing Road.

Much of the contractor’s work will be on the right-of-way and won't impact traffic, but one-lane traffic controlled by flaggers will be needed at times to allow trucks to access the work site and drop off materials.

One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with the lane restriction removed when the contractor does not have construction activity at the site.

Again, motorists traveling US 60 just east of Lacenter should be aware of this work zone and the structly enforced 45 mile per hour work zone speed limit.

The scour remediation work at this site should be completed by October 31.
