Folks who like the smell and feel of a traditional Christmas tree, and those who like getting a tree for free can satisfy both desires at Land Between the Lakes.

LBL is once again offering free cedar trees to anyone who gets a permit between now and December 24.

LBL Public Affairs Specialist Emily Cleaver told WKDZ that trees must be cedar, less than 10 feet tall, and stumps must be less than 4 inches tall.

There are other guidelines as well. Anyone who is interested can begin the process by visiting the permit page on LBL's website (see link below).

Anyone who has previously purchased a permit made camping reservations may have an online account already, but if not, it's easy to set up.

For more information can call 270-924-2065 or 270-924-2000.
