There are several candidates running for various offices as Marshall County voters prepare to head to the polls for Tuesday's Primary Election.

Marshall County Judge Executive Kevin Neal is running unopposed in the Republican Primary, but will face challenger State Representative Will Coursey in the General Election this November.

Marshall County District 1 Commissioner Bob Gold will face challengers Ronnie Heath, Justin Lamb and Jerome "Lee" Hicks Jr. in the Democratic Primary. Republicans Buster Lovelace and Monti Collins are both seeking election in the Primary for Marshall County 3rd District Commissioner. Current Democratic 3rd District Commissioner Dr. Rick Cocke is unopposed in the Primary Election.

Assistant County Attorney Jason Darnall has filed to run as an Independent for the office of County Attorney in the General Election, and Zach Brien has filed to run for the office as a Democrat. Current Marshall County Attorney Jeff Edwards will not seek re-election.

Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Byars is up against challenger Trent Weaver in the Democratic Primary. Republicans James Winnans Sr. and Eddie McGuire are both running in the Republican Primary to win their party's nomination for the General Election.

Deputy Coroner Barry Dean Taylor will face challenger Tracy C. Stevens in the Democratic Primary Election. Michael D. Gordon is running unopposed for the office in the Republican Primary. Former Marshall County Coroner Mitchell Lee resigned in December.
