The Republican Primary will feature two races; the Calloway County Judge Executive position and the District 4 Magistrate position.
In the County Judge Executive race, Republicans will choose between Joel H. Stansberry and Kenny Imes. The District 4 Magistrate race will have Republicans choosing between Greg Mansfield and Paul W. Rister.
The Democratic Primary will see three races, which include the positions of 1st Congressional District US Representative, 3rd District Constable, and 4th District Magistrate.
Democrats will choose either Paul Walker or Alonzo Pennington for the position of 1st Congressional District US Representative. In the 3rd District Constable race, it will be between Rodney Dukes and Tim Stone. The 4th District Magistrate race will have voters choose one of six candidates: Ralph Rogers, Deidre Wilford, Timothy Wade Cunningham, Larry Ryan, Vonnie Hays-Adams, or Mitchell Nesbitt.
The nonpartisan ballot for City of Murray Mayor will have four candidates. The top two will advance to the General Election in November. The candidates for Murray Mayor are Ed Davis, Bob Rogers, Fred J. Moore, and Clifton F. Darnell.
The nonpartisan Murray City Council ballot will have 34 candidates. It will include 11 of the 12 incumbent Murray City Council members. The only incumbent not running for re-election is Jason Pittman. The top 24 in this race will move on to the General Election, where 12 will be selected to make up the new Murray City Council.
The 34 candidates on the ballot for Murray City Council are: Jane Brandon, Monty McCuiston, Deana Wright, Rose Ross Elder, Barry Randall Hill, Barbara Cobb, Ron "R.G." Gladden, Michael Shayne Morris, Terry Strieter, Richard W. Knight, Donnie Winchester, Robert Barker, Pat Scott, Jessica Evans, Danny O. Hudspeth, John Mark Roberts, James "Froggy" Gish, Jane Shoemaker, Linda Cherry, David M. Hornback, Patricia W. "Pat" Seiber, Alice J. Rouse, Jeremy Bell, Tina Gorham, Dan M. Miller, Johnny Bohannon, Chris Chapman, Caitlin Murnane, Burton Young, Sue Hood, Robert Billington, Jr., Kim Tetrev, Rickie D. Spann, and Wesley Bolin.
The polls for the 2018 Primary Election will open at 6:00 am and will close at 6:00 pm.
