Jail Employees Indicted for Promoting Contraband
By West Kentucky Star Staff
WICKLIFFE - Two Ballard County Jail employees who were arrested last month have been indicted after authorities say they gave contraband to inmates at the facility.

The Ballard County Circuit Court Clerk told West Kentucky Star that 30-year-old Dorothy Pearson and 37-year-old Heather Gudim were indicted on Friday. They both face a charge of first degree promoting contraband, which is a Class D Felony.

In June, Ballard County Attorney Vicki Hayden said Pearson is accused of giving an inmate a generic Lortab pill. She said Gudim is accused of providing an inmate with a cell phone and cigarettes.

Pearson's pre-trial conference is set for July 20, and Gudim's is set for August 3.
