Fulton County Escapee Caught in Union City

FULTON, KY - A man who escaped custody at the Fulton County Courthouse on Thursday has been caught.

Kentucky State Police say they learned the whereabouts of 29-year-old Jerrelle DeShawn Kinney, so they contacted the The Union City, Tennessee, Police Department to check a home. Kinney was in arrested about 9:15 pm Friday, and is being held at the Obion County Detention Center until he can be extradited back to Fulton County.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office says Kinney escaped from custody Thursday as he was being taken back to jail after a sentencing hearing in Fulton County Circuit Court. Judge Tim Langford had sentenced Kinney to four years in prison after he plead guilty to felony drug charges.

The Sheriff's Department says Kinney will now face additional felony charges for escape.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating and apprehending Jerrelle DeShawn Kinney.

Kinney appeared before Fulton County Circuit Judge Tim Langford on Thursday for sentencing on felony drug charges that he was indicted on by the Fulton County Grand Jury earlier this year. After being sentenced to four years in prison, he was taken from the second floor to a transportation van when he fled on foot. The area was searched by local law enforcement officers but no contact was made.

Kinney is a a 29-year-old black male, 6’ 2”, weighing 170 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Kinney’s last address was in Paducah, and he also reportedly has ties in Hickman, Martin, TN and other local cities.

Kinney is facing additional charges. If you have any information about Kinney’s whereabouts please contact your local law enforcement agency.

Anyone caught aiding Kinney may also face charges.
