A Graves County man faces charges related to a robbery earlier this month in Lone Oak.

On the afternoon of August 9, McCracken County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a reported armed robbery at Cash Express, on Lovelaceville Road. An employee reported that a heavy-set white male, wearing a camouflage bandana over his face, entered the business and walked behind the counter. The employee said the man brandished a knife, and made reference to the safe and money drawer; which the employee then opened. The suspect took an undetermined amount of cash and left the business, possibly in a gold Dodge Caravan.

Detectives identified the suspect as 33-year-old Michael D. Rudd of Hickory. They did that by using video surveillance, witness statements and other evidence, and were helped by the Graves County Sheriff’s Department and the Mayfield Police Department.

On Wednesday, Rudd was charged with Robbery 1st Degree. He was already in the Graves County Jail on other charges.
