Redmon said Elliott was arrested Wednesday and lodged in the Graves County Jail. The upgrade to murder came after sheriff’s deputies met with Commonwealth Attorney David Hargrove to discuss evidence in the case. Elliott was initially charged with wanton endangerment.

Redmon said he believes alcohol played a role in the shooting. Deputies recovered a .38-caliber revolver they believe was used in the shooting. They also found two marijuana plants growing in pots at the home. Elliott, who also goes by Lisa McClain, is also charged with cultivating fewer than five marijuana plants.
