According to Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon, 46-year-old Lisa Elliott, of Sedalia, is now charged with the murder of 46-year-old Lynn Dale Gills, also of Sedalia.

Redmon said Elliott was arrested Wednesday and lodged in the Graves County Jail. The upgrade to murder came after sheriff’s deputies met with Commonwealth Attorney David Hargrove to discuss evidence in the case. Elliott was initially charged with wanton endangerment.

Redmon said deputies were called to 4158 KY 83 in Cuba Sunday night to a report of a domestic disturbance and shooting. When they arrived, they found Gills, Elliott’s boyfriend, in the yard with gunshot wounds to both legs. Gills was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield and then transferred to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville where he died Monday night.

Redmon said he believes alcohol played a role in the shooting. Deputies recovered a .38-caliber revolver they believe was used in the shooting. They also found two marijuana plants growing in pots at the home. Elliott, who also goes by Lisa McClain, is also charged with cultivating fewer than five marijuana plants.
