The Graves County High School JROTC sent two Raider teams to participate in the Allen County-Scottsville annual Raider event Saturday, Oct. 15.

Twenty-two teams were divided into a JV division and a varsity division. The JV Raider team placed second overall and the varsity team placed first overall, also establishing a new Raider course record.

Lt. Col. Jason Caldwell (Ret.), the Senior Army Instructor and Raider Coach at Graves County JROTC, said "Both teams did great! They both completed the course with no breaks between the eight events. We finally beat a great team from Central Hardin High School, our goal was to go through the course with speed and make little to no mistakes. Our cadets did the best of all teams on the obstacle course and one rope bridge events which helped us prevail in the end."

The school will host its first-ever Raider event at 9 am on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Graves County High School.

Caldwell said with 18 teams participating, "Anyone can come watch and see first-hand what a Raider event is really like."
