According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, reports of a man walking along New Hope Church Road with a gun pointed at his head came into the dispatch center around 8:00 pm Monday. Deputies responded to the area and saw 46-year-old John Willoughby of Murray throw a small container into the grass beside him.
The sheriff’s office K-9 responded to the scene and located a small vial of methamphetamine. A search warrant was obtained on a nearby home where Willoughby had been staying for the last few days.
During a search of the home, deputies reportedly found methamphetamine, marijuana and other drugs, along with a large amount of cash believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales. Deputies said they also found various pipes and paraphernalia and several firearms including assault rifles and handguns.
Deputies said they also found glass pipes that contained methamphetamine in the children's room of the house. Small children were reportedly present during the search.
Willoughby was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug parapheranalia. Two other people at the home, 28-year-old Jessica Shelbourne and 35-year-old Colby Mitchell, both of Mayfield, were also arrested.
Mitchell was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking controlled substance, possession of a firearm and handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Shellbourne was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a minor.
All three were booked into in the Graves County Jail.
