A Marshall County man has been indicted on a murder charge.

A Marshall County grand jury on Tuesday indicted 53-year-old Jonathan “Danny” Williams with murder in the Dec. 1, 2018 death of 54-year-old Billy Lee, Jr. Benton Police were called to Lee's Birch Street home on Dec 1, after he was found dead in his living room by two friends. Police asked for help finding Williams for questioning on December 3, and he turned himself in ten days later.

During a preliminary hearing last month, Commonwealth Attorney Dennis Foust confirmed that a Benton police officer testified, saying he heard Williams tell him he didn't mean to kill Lee. Testimony also revealed that Williams told the officer Lee had been selling methamphetamine to his daughter.

Autopsy results from December determined Lee died of multiple blunt force trauma.

Williams is scheduled to be arraigned on March 26 at 1 pm.
