Gilbertsville Man Killed in Marshall County Crash

A Gilbertsville man was killed in a Friday morning crash in Marshall County.

At around 2:30 am Friday, Marshall County Sheriff's Deputies responded to English Road to a vehicle that had run off the road and hit a tree. According to a report filed by the accident reconstructionist, 27-year-old Thomas E. Bonnell, of Gilbertsville was westbound on English Road near Pugh School Road when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and struck a tree.

Bonnell was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Palma Briensburg Fire Department, Marshall County EMS, and the Marshall County Coroners Office.

Police said the investigation is continuing.
