Gas Prices Up Locally, Fall Slightly Statewide
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH, KY - Average retail gasoline prices in Kentucky fell almost a penny per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.33 a gallon Sunday. Meanwhile the national average increased 2 cents per gallon to $2.37 a gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Prices yesterday were 44 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago.
In Paducah, prices are ranging from $2.18 to $2.29 a gallon.
"The Dept. of Energy report last week of a huge build in gasoline inventory followed by the brutal 1-2 punch from Winter Storms Helena and Iras, should bring immediate downward pressure on fuel prices," said Gasbuddy senior petroleum analyst Gregg Laskoski.
