The National Weather Service office in Paducah maintains a flood watch for southeast Missouri and the Illinois counties of Union, Alexander and Pulaski.

As of 4 am Saturday, the slow-moving front has already brought three inches of rain to an isolated area south of Farmington. About an inch of precipitation has fallen so far in the three Illinois counties.

In western Kentucky, portions of Fulton and Hickman counties have seen up to 1.5 inches of rain so far.

Two to four total inches of rain could occur between Friday and Monday, mainly west of the Mississippi River. Rain totals may be less in other areas, but isolated instances of flooding cannot be ruled out there.

Rain became widespread through Friday afternoon, and will remain steady on Saturday. Rainfall rates could be enough for small streams and ditches to flow out of their banks, especially in flood-prone areas.

Keep your weather radio handy in case additional flood watches are issued for more counties across our region through the weekend.
