For the past five years, First Kentucky Bank’s Employee Charity of Choice has been the Feeding America Backpack Program, and during that time they have given over $100,000 through employee payroll deductions, which has provided over 833 local children with a bag of food (10-15 items) every week throughout each school year (40 weeks/year).

For 2018 alone, they donated $21,500, which provided over 179 children with a bag of food each week as part of the Backpack Program.

Nicole Sullivan, First Kentucky HR Officer, exclaimed, "Over $100,000 in five years," Nicole Sullivan, First Kentucky HR Officer exclaimed. "What an amazing accomplishment! We are very proud of our employees for their continuous donations and support for this awesome program, which helps prevent children from going to bed hungry each night and improves their academic performance during each school day. The Backpack Program helps these children gain access to “easy-to-make” foods so they can care for themselves (and their siblings in some cases). The FRYSCs at each school help identify which kids are in need each year, and they distribute the food to them every week. We are honored that our employees have chosen to once again support this cause in 2019!”
