Eight Graves Residents Face Drug, Theft Charges

Several Graves County residents have been arrested on various drug and theft charges recently.

Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says his office has been investigating several burglaries and thefts in the Sharon Baptist Church Road area in southern Graves County. Forty-three-year-old Larry Thornton and 51-year-old Rex Clayton were charged in connection with stolen property and thefts of items in those areas. During the investigation, a search warrant was obtained at Clayton’s home in Mayfield, where stolen items were found, along with methamphetamine, marijuana and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Thornton was arrested and charged with burglary and receiving stolen property. Clayton faces charges of receiving stolen property, trafficking meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance and prescription not in the proper container.

Forty-nine-year-old Regina Davis was arrested during the search of Clayton’s home. She's charged with trafficking meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance and prescription not in the proper container. A 15-year-old juvenile also faces drug charges as a result of the investigation.

On Friday, deputies arrested 35-year-old Amanda Chambers of Sedalia, in front of the Graves County Jail after deputies found meth and drug paraphernalia during a search of her vehicle. Chambers was charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dustin McReynolds was cited for possession of marijuana after he reportedly surrendered some marijuana to investigating officers.

On Monday, dispatch received a call of illegal drug activity taking place at a home in the 3000 block of State Route 1241, north of Mayfield. Deputies responded and obtained a search warrant for the home.

Inside the home, police found methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Deputies arrested 26-year-old Robert Gossum and 35-year-old Jim Pierce, both of Mayfield. Gossum was charged with possession of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Pierce was charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Andrew Anderson was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
