Mayfield Police officers responded Tuesday at 2:37 pm to a home in the 100 block of South 16th Street, for a domestic assault that was in progress. Officers said that 36-year-old Michael Dan Sullivan reportedly assaulted his girlfriend and then fled. When the officers arrived on the scene, they saw Sullivan come out of the back door of the home, and they chased him on foot to a neighboring home. He then kicked in the back door and officers entered the neighboring home, finding Sullivan hiding in a back room.
Sullivan was arrested and charged with assault, domestic violence, 1st degree fleeing and evading police on foot, 2nd degree burglary, and 3rd degree criminal mischief to a residence. Sullivan was taken to the Graves County Jail.
