A Graves County man faces multiple drug charges following a one-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.

The accident happened around 6:45 am on KY 408 West, near Pottsville. According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Kyle Franklin, of Mayfield, left the road, went through a ditch and into a creek.

Deputies said when they arrived, Franklin appeared to be under the influence of a substance other than alcohol. After field sobriety tests were administered, Franklin was arrested and charged with DUI-3rd offense. A passenger in the vehicle, Franklin’s one-year-old child, was placed with a family friend, and deputies notified the Cabinet for Families and Children.

Franklin was taken to the hospital, where deputies said he refused to submit to a blood test. He was then taken to the Graves County Jail. During a search of Franklin at the jail, deputies allegedly found a pill bottle containing a substance believed to be marijuana and $2,527 cash.

Franklin was additionally charged with wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting contraband.
