Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture James Comer has responded to the request concerning the overwhelming problem with mosquitoes in Western Kentucky.

On Monday, Comer acknowledged Lyon County Judge-Executive Wade White's plea for assistance in tackling the insects. He has sent three additional mosquito repellent spray trucks to Lyon, Calloway and Marshall Counties.

White said the extermination team has already started their work and they will be here for a solid week.

White will then report the effectiveness back to Commissioner Comer. If the additional three trucks do not make an impact, White said they will send six additional trucks.

Kuttawa Mayor Butch McCollum also contacted Ag Commissioner Comer in addition to Judge White's plea.
