A Carlisle County man is facing charges after an incident Friday night.

According to the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a call stating that a truck had backed over a mailbox in the 1600 block of County Road 1016 and left the area. Sheriff Will Gilbert responded to investigate the collision.

While speaking with the property owners, the suspect's vehicle passed by going toward Highway 121. Sheriff Gilbert found the vehicle at a home in the 2000 block of County Road 1016.

Gilbert could not get anyone to respond to the door and called the registered owner, 41-year-old Michael Lee, in reference to the incident. Lee allegedly told the sheriff that he was at work, so Gilbert assumed that it was his son that was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Lee was asked to contact his son and have him come to the door. No one ever came to the door. Deputies later learned that Lee was not at work and that his son was not in the area at the time of the incident.

While the tow truck was loading the suspect's vehicle, Lee stepped outside of the home. He was arrested and charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. He was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail.
