A drug investigation in Carlisle County has resulted in the arrest of a Bardwell man.

On Tuesday, the Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office and Bardwell Police Department executed a search warrant on Oak Street in Bardwell. The search warrant was the result of a drug investigation that began approximately one week prior. Thirty-five-year-old Jason Busby, who was currently out on a $250.00 bond from a prior drug offense, was located at the home. During the search he was found to be in possession of approximately a gram of methamphetamine, a methamphetamine pipe, and a butane torch.

He was charged with first degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and taken to the Ballard County Jail.

In addition, he was served with a criminal summons out of Graves County for traffic violations, and an additional summons out of Carlisle County, from an incident last week, where he and April Purcell, of Ballard County, were caught on camera allegedly attempting to break into a building near Cunningham.

The Ballard County Sheriff’s Office located Purcell and served her with a criminal summons charging her with 3rd degree attempted burglary.
