A Calvert City man is facing charges after hitting a gas line with his car.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded Monday to a crash in the 600 block of KY 348 in Symsonia. Deputies said Eric Davenport of Calvert City lost control of his vehicle in a curve and hit an Atmos Energy Gas main. Witnesses told deputies Davenport then fled the scene on foot. A section of KY 348 was shut down after the crash until workers could repair the damaged line.

Davenport reportedly contacted Deputies later that evening, telling them he was going to the Marshall County Hospital for a possible concussion from the wreck. After being treated and released, Davenport was booked into the Graves County Jail and charged with leaving the scene of accident and first-degree criminal mischief.
