Law enforcement is investigating the burglary of a Hazel church, and the attempted burglary of a second one.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff's Department, suspects entered the Hazel Church of Christ, took an undisclosed amount of property, and ransacked the church. They believe the burglary took place between Wednesday night, January 9th, and Saturday, January 12th.

During the same period, suspects tried to gain entry into the Hazel United Methodist Church. Deputies said it appears the suspects were not able to enter the building, but damage was done to the church door.

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office and the Murray-Calloway County Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s assistance.
