Benton Woman Arrested on Warrant, Drug Charges

Police arrested a Benton woman in Murray Sunday on drug and other charges.

The Murray Police Department says officers learned on Sunday that 47-year-old Stacy Essex of Benton, who had an active warrant for her arrest, was walking on South 9th Street. 

Officers responded and arrested Essex. During a search they reportedly found about 13 grams of methamphetamine on her, along with cash and pills. 

Essex is charged with a warrant out of Marshall County for criminal possession of a forged instrument, possession of a controlled substance and trafficking in a controlled substance. She was booked into the Calloway County Jail.
