A Benton man who enjoys putting on a Christmas light show every year has added even more to his already sprawling display, and is inviting everyone to come out and see it for themselves this year.

Tim Vincek, who has been operating his Christmas Light Shines Bright show for years at his home at 131 Heather Lane, says it has grown significantly from what it was originally. It now features thousands of lights, props, and other display items.

"I have been building a light display as long as I can remember, but in 2016 I stepped it up to programming lights to music," Vincek said. "This has brought a whole new level of crazy!"

Vincek said he added more than 1400 programmable RGB pixels to his display in 2017, which he says was the the biggest improvement yet. He said the lights can be programmed with the music to change colors, for a truly dazzling effect. He added that it was God who moved him to create the display so many years ago, and also credited his family and friends for their support.

"I could not do this without our Lord, who has introduced me to a man who's light shines bright before men. Fellow Christian, Scooter Paschall of Hazel, not only has a passion for our Lord, he is a master programmer of lighting effects. Without his guidance and support I would be lost," Vincek said. "My wife and daughter allow and tolerate the craziness all year long with building lights, props, programming and  general nonsense."

Vincek has even set up a low-power FM transmitter on site, so visitors can listen to music that syncs with the lights. Folks can tune into 91.1 FM to hear seven different songs play on a loop as they take in the light show.

Vincek said there is no charge for admission, but he has set up a donation box and asks visitors to drop a canned good or two off for the Benton First Baptist Church Pantry.

"Believe it or not with our church being in town, there are a lot of folks that come in and pick a few things up to make ends meet. The Pantry needs a little boost through the holidays." He said.

You can stop by and take in the show each night from 5:30 to 9:30 pm from now until Christmas. Click the link below for more information.
