A Benton man was arrested Tuesday after he was caught driving an ATV on roads, and tried to get away from law enforcement.

A Marshall County Sheriff's deputy was parked at the intersection of KY Highways 58 and 1949 in the community of Harvey, when he reportedly saw an ATV pull up to a building, then drive north on Wadesboro Road. The deputy tried to pull over the driver, later identified as 23-year-old Storm Park of Benton, but Park made a u-turn and ran the stop sign on Highway 58. The deputy said when he got in front of the ATV to stop it, Park struck the rear of the cruiser, then went across a wheat field until the ATV overturned in a ditch. Park fled into nearby woods, but was arrested when he came back to the ATV.

Park faces charges of fleeing or evading police 1st degree (in a vehicle and on foot), two charges of wanton endangerment, driving an ATV on a road, not wearing a helmet, driving an ATV on property without consent, criminal mischief, no driver's license, and several other traffic violations.
