A Paducah man who allegedly punched an umpire at a youth baseball game earlier this year pleaded guilty Wednesday to assault of a sports official.

According to the Marshall County Attorney's Office, John Kevin Kiebler received a sentence of 90 days in jail probated. He must also complete 100 hours of community service, get anger management counseling and issue a public apology.

Additionally, Kiebler must stay off the Calvert ball fields and he cannot coach in Marshall County. Prosecutors said the umpire was in complete agreement with the sentence.

The alleged incident took place at the Calvert City ball fields in May. Witnesses told police Kiebler, who was coaching one of the teams, allegedly punched an umpire after a game.
