The northbound Purchase Parkway ramp to Interstate 24 eastbound in Marshall County Tuesday & Wednesday evening.

KYTC spokesman Keith Todd said these nighttime ramp closures are to allow a high-friction, anti-skid coating to be applied to the ramp. The northbound Purchase Parkway ramp to eastbound I-24 will be closed from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am Tuesday night and Wednesday night. This ramp is at Purchase Parkway Exit 52 and I-24 Exit 25 near Calvert City.

During the closures, message boards will direct drivers to detour via US 62 and I-24 Exit 27.

The project is being funded by a Highway Safety Improvement Program effort to combat areas with a high number of wet-weather crashes. In recent years, traffic engineers added additional signage to the ramps. That has helped to reduce crashes, but crash numbers have reportedly remained high.
