Fulton County's only ambulance service provider will soon cease operations there, but a new company will be taking over.
The Twin City Ambulance Service Board announced Tuesday that KenTenn EMS will begin serving the area on December 15, when Tennova Healthcare ceases its management of emergency medical services in the county.
KenTenn EMS says it will continue service to the 20-mile service area from ambulance stations, one in Fulton and another in Hickman. KenTenn EMS will continue to respond to 911 calls, and will also continue inter-facility transfers, as well as its stand-by service for special events, community festivals, and high school athletic activities.
The KenTenn board will host three public meetings to discuss its operational efforts, revenue streams, things that must be accomplished before December 16th, and how citizens can be a part of the ambulance services success. The meetings will be held at the following locations and times:
Tuesday, September 26th at 4:30 p.m. at South Fulton City Hall in the Commission Room
Wednesday, September 27th at 6:30 pm at the Pontotoc Community Center in Fulton
Thursday September 28th at 6:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Hickman
